Phase 2: Creatief concept
Based upon the persona's and your wishes, we design the website. The design normally exists out of seperate parts:
- Functional Design:
We define which functional parts are desired on the site. From here we keep an eye on the described persona's and also with your priorities and the calculated costs of the implementation. - Interaction Design (IA):
In the IA the functional possibilities are shown in so called wire-frames. These are in fact screen examples without graphical form. The IA gives you an image of how the website will work and contains all possible types of screens and shows how they are connected to each other (navigation structures). - Graphical Design:
A website has to look good. We realise that by having a graphical designer create the format of the site based on your style or by developing a totally new style! - Content management system - roles, rights and workflow -
Workflows are defined for notifications and automisation of the different adminstration tasks. If for example an editor has made a page ready the workflow ensures that the main editor gets notification and can approve the page.
Phase 3: Realisation - Development phase
In the realisation phase the website is created based on the design. Drecomm uses a standard development methodology with the following steps:
- Technical development
The technical development is the translation of the functionality within the IA to a working website. Drecomm strive to accomplish this while conforming to the TYPO3 design standards, therefore assuring that the website can easily be taken over by another company or your in house developers if future changes are required. - Configuration and coding.
Within TYPO3 a large number of modules are available. Supposing that a standard module will meet your needs then it is a simple matter of configuring this module for your website. In the case that the functionality must be changed in order to meet the functional specifications of your site then code will also be written. Drecomm maintains our own standards for the code ensuring a consistant and quick manner of development.. - Unit Testing
Drecomm sees testing as an important activity in the development process. Testing is done on two levels, per module and the entire system. In this phase of development the module level of testing is carried out..
Phase 4: Acceptance & Delivery
During this phase the website as a whole is tested on basis of the design. You will be given an opportunity to test the website. If required Drecomm can provide testing assistance and aid with preperation. Any omissions in relation to the draft are listed and Drecomm shall resolve them. After this we handle the formal acceptance of the system by you. After this phase you recieve three months guarantee for the functionality of the application.
Phase 5: Launch of application
A working website is not complete until the goals are seen to be met through satisfaction of both the organisation and visitors. In this phase:
- Typo3 Training for content administrators and other involved parties.
- Migration of content
- Setting up of roles and responsibilities as well as the overall content management process (to be carried out by administration after training from Drecomm).
The advisors from Drecomm are more than capable of assisting in these tasks and if desired wish to support you.
Phase 6: Infratructure and Hosting
In consultation with the client, the method of hosting is determined (dedicated or shared) and the infrastructure is designed and put in place. The inplacement of this step is done within the clients desired service level. Drecomm follows a roadmap which leads to the completion of an SLA (Service Level Agreement). See section 7 for a fuller explanation.
Phase 7: Support and Administration
After acceptance of the site Drecomm continues the project on a management track with the following components:
- Functional & content administration
By default this is carried out by the customer themselves (Drecomm may do this for you, if desired). - Technical Administration
Drecomm shall conduct technical management. This concerns: In addition to the management this agreement between the customer and Drecomm contains discussions over the services which Drecomm should complete and what performance indicators are to be used. The manner in which the SLA is established and an example of an SLA is incorporated in the tender for the project.. - Continued Development
in agreement: "This is possible by Drecomm or by the customer."
Phase 8: Project & SLA Management
1 point: "the Project Leader"
Major responsibilities of the project leader are:
- Communication with the client
(Preferably we will work with the clients designated project leader.) - Development of plans
- Chairing discussions
- Confirmation of meetings and action points
- Reports
- Directing activities
- Aiding the client
After completion of the project, the project is transferred to the responsible SLA manager. The responsibilities of the SLA manager are committed to the agreed SLA.
